3) Click on the Personal Mail (Mail Settings) heading. (As seen in the screenshot above). You should then get to a page looking like this:
4) Put in your full email address and password and click on continue. 5) In this personal mail box section you can change settings such as forwarding, spam filtering and auto responder messages. An auto responder message is an email that is sent in reply to all emails sent to your mailbox. This is most commonly used when people are on vacation and cannot respond to their email but want to let people know why they are not responding and when they will be back. 6) To set the vacation message you need to click on the Autoresponders tab. You should then see the page which looks like the following:
7) Now we need to add the vacation message. Click on the add button. 8) Now you will be asked to enter a responder name such as vacation_message1 or whatever best describes your message. If you want to limit the kind of emails the responder replies to then you can add conditions. Mostly you would have no condition set and this would reply to all emails sent. 9) Type in your vacation message. 10) Your screen should now be looking similar to this:
11) Then click on ok. 12) The vacation message you have created is automatically stored in the inactive responders list. You can store messages you may need to use again in this section rather than deleting and recreating new messages over and over again 13) To set the responder to work however, you need to highlight the responder you want and click the on button. This will move the inactive message across to the active message. You should see the following on your screen:
14) Once you have done this the process is complete you do not need to click on apply or ok to finish the process. 15) Close your browser and send yourself a test email to check that the process has worked. 16) If you want to turn an active responder off you highlight the responder title and click off. This will move it back to the inactive responder section where it will remain until you delete it or turn it on again. 17) If you want to edit a previously created message you highlight the responder title and click edit. 18) If you want to delete a message you highlight the responder title and click remove. |
