FAQ:    How do I take a screenshot?

In this procedure, you will be asked to press certain keys in combination with the Control or CTRL key.  This key is used like a special Shift key: 

Ø      Press and hold down the Control key (it’s named either Control or CTRL)

Ø      Press the combination key.  For example, if we say press CTRL-C, press the “C”key while you are holding down the Control key. Or for example, if we say press CTRL-ENTER, press the Enter key while you are holding down the Control key.

Then release both keys.

Example:

You wish to take a snapshot of your email account settings for record purposes.  How do you do it?

 

Solution:

1)    Open Outlook

2)    Click on the Tools menu and the Accounts option as shown below:

 

3)    You should get a window looking like the following:

 

4)    Select which email account you want to take the snapshots of and then click on Properties

5)    You should get a window looking like the following:

 

6)    Press ALT-PrtScn.

7)    Open Word

8)    Once Word is open, you should see something like this:

 

9)    Press CTRL-V.

10)    You should now see the following:

 

11)    Press CTRL-ENTER.

12)    You should now see the following:

 

13)    Click on Inbox - Microsoft Outlook icon on the taskbar.  Now you should be seeing the following window in Outlook again:

 

14)    Click on the Servers tab.

15)    Press ALT-PrtScn.

16)    Click on Document1 - Microsoft Word icon on the taskbar.  You should be seeing this screen again:

 

17)    Press CTRL-V.

18)    Press CTRL-ENTER.

19)    Continue to repeat the steps explained above for taking screenshots for the rest of the settings.

20)    Once complete, save the Word document:

 

21)    Close Word

22)    In Outlook:

22a)    Click on Cancel.

22b)    Click on Close.
